Beeswax candle - Snowflake When burning beeswax candles, the aroma of propolis spreads in the air of the room, cleaning and disinfecting it. The essential oils of the flowers and pollen contained in the wax also spread in the room air, creating a pleasant honey aroma. Fresh wax is colorless like glass, but in contact with pollen and propolis it turns yellow - from very light yellow to yellowish brown. The characteristic color and smell of the wax is given by minerals, plant pigments (eg various carotenes) and essential oils. The smell of wax is also formed from honey, pollen and propolis. Wax fades in sunlight. If the wax contains a lot of propolis, it can have a greenish tint. The production of one kilogram of wax requires four kilograms of honey. The color of the candle may differ slightly from the color of the candle in the picture.
